Mark Herbert built his first house in 1978 and started Herbert Homes, Inc. 1984. We have over 30 years of local experience in building quality homes at an affordable price.
Since that time, Herbert Homes, Inc. has been involved in the construction of new single and multifamily housing, land development, office and light commercial construction and renovations. The focus of the company, however, continues to be the building of quality homes made affordable.

Believing that the customer should always be happy and satisfied, Herbert Homes, Inc. employs only professional contractors, suppliers, supervisors, and office staff. Also, Herbert Homes, Inc. is the Augusta area’s senior member of the 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty Program, and is one of the first local building companies to offer a standard written one-year warranty which includes walk-through inspections, new home orientations, a 60-day adjustment list and a 365-day adjustment list.

With all this in mind, it is easy to understand the company’s motto – “Quality’s not cheap, but can be affordable.”

Mark Herbert is on numerous local and state committees from hospitality to licensing. He is also a proud supporter of the Golden Harvest Food Bank, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and supports our soldiers through the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation fund known as the MWR Fund. Mark is associated with local charities because as he puts it, “We are community” and as such we offer our assistance in various ways. Mark is a proud citizen of Columbia County as well as a father and grandfather and he loves it!

Mark is involved with all aspects of the industry, as well as the community. He has been the local president for the Builders Association of Metro Augusta twice, the president of the Home Builders Association of Georgia, as well as a National Director and committee member of the National Association of Home Builders. Mark has been voted the “Builder of the Year” through the Builders Association of Metro Augusta twice and the ultimate honor in the building industry, the Home Builders Association of Georgia’s “Hall of Fame.”
